Fit Together in Action September News            Fit Together 5210 Highlights: Family Bicycle Rally Fit Together hosted their first Family Bicycle Rally on Sunday September 22 on the Sue Grossman trail. The free family event attracted more than 50 participants and included a strider bike obstacle course, raffle prizes and healthy snacks. Families had the choice to ride as little or as much as they wanted. A few families took advantage of the sunning last day of summer and complete two loops or 10 miles! The five stations which will soon be ready for the community are a Trapeze, Joint Pull up, Push up, Parallel bars and a Vault. Fit Together in Action June News Fit Together 5210 School Highlights: Torrington Kids Marathon On June 2 more than 400 students from 14 area schools came to celebrate their final mile of the Torrington Kids Marathon at the Torrington High School track. This year all four Torrington elementary schools participated in the 26.2 mile challenge. Fit Together in Action May News Fit Together 5210 School Highlights Health and Wellness Festival comes to Torringford School On May 17, Forbes and Torringford sister elementary schools teamed up to hosted an interactive wellness festival at Torringford. Committee chairs Janice Harrington and Erin Considine were thrilled with the turnout with over 600 people participating. This year the event changed venues and with the added space the festival was able to host more interactive booths and demos. Fit Together in Action April News Fit Together 5210 School Highlights-Torrington Kids Golf comes to the elementary schools Torrington Kids Golf: Fit Together’s Mini grant was used to purchase SNAG (Starting New At Golf) Equipment to introduce Torrington Kids Golf to all elementary school students districtwide.  This new program provides opportunities to get physical activity while promoting the sport of golf which can be played from an early age and throughout an adult’s life. Fit Together in Action March News Fit Together 5210 School Highlights: Vogel-Wetmore Tracks Healthy Behaviors all Month Long Mr. Egan, a Vogel Wetmore PE teacher provides each student a monthly 5210  calendar. Students are encouraged to track their healthy habits in each of the 5210 strategies, which are then reinforced during class.
