Fit Together’s Rock the Greenway Event
Thanks to all who attended our first Fit Together event of 2021! Our “Rock The Sue Grossman Greenway Family Fitness Scavenger Hunt” brought together over 50 people (and a few furry friends) who came to search for hidden rocks while experiencing the great opportunities for fitness on the Greenway. Families who completed the full course walked over 4 miles and found 9 different clues! We ended the event with a raffle drawing and sent some happy families home with prizes to inspire more active family fun together.
The core belief of Fit Together is to make the healthy choice the easy choice, and a family walk is one of the easiest ways to add exercise to daily life. We hope all in our Fit Together community will continue to plan group outings on the Greenway or at any of our many local parks and conservation centers.
Check the Fit Together Resource guide for ideas and don’t forget to bring your water bottle on your outings. Happy trails!

Summer Heat Keep Hydrated
The days have been getting super-hot and humid. Drinking enough water each day is crucial for many reasons. It helps regulate body temperatures and keeps joints moving; it prevents infections and delivers nutrients to cells. Being well-hydrated also improves sleep, cognition and mood. It is also important to remember that your body loses water all day and water is life and our bodies need water. One way to increase water intake is by making fun tasty infused water.
