Fall HIKING

First Fit Together Hike Fest

A huge thanks to everyone who helped make our first ever Fall Hike Fest such a fun and active afternoon! Blue skies and peak autumn leaves were the backdrop for a celebration of all things hiking here in northwest Connecticut, including a kid’s scavenger hunt at the Burr Bond beachfront. Volunteers from the Torrington Trails Network came with maps, guided hike options and even had handmade walking sticks for hikers of all ages. CT DEEP provided information on their “No Child Left Inside” and “Sky’s the Limit” programs for families, community educator Janet Sosnicki offered natural materials for making bracelets, and all hikers were treated to delicious apples donated by March Farms. Fit Together is dedicated to making the healthy choice the easy choice – we hope all who attended are inspired to keep exploring the incredible trails here in our community. Thanks again & happy hiking!
