Fit Together 5210 School Highlights-Torrington Kids Golf comes to the elementary schools
Torrington Kids Golf: Fit Together’s Mini grant was used to purchase SNAG (Starting New At Golf) Equipment to introduce Torrington Kids Golf to all elementary school students districtwide. This new program provides opportunities to get physical activity while promoting the sport of golf which can be played from an early age and throughout an adult’s life.
Each of the four elementary schools is incorporating a two week golf curriculum. Mr. Mahar one of the PE teachers who has spear headed the program has already had great feedback from the students. “Mr. Mahar, I loved golfing, it was awesome. When are we going to do that again?”
