Fit Together in Action February News Kids Marathon We are excited to announce that Torrington Kids Marathon- that’s right 26.2 miles is back on this year. Fit Together will once again support this super event and cheer all participants on as they finish their marathon on Sunday, June 5, at the Torrington High School track. Fit Together in Action November News School Updates Vogel Wetmore Plans for Hydroponic Tower Garden Vogel Wetmore School is excited to enhance their school garden with the addition of a hydroponic garden tower.  As one of Fit Together’s fall mini grant awardees this year-round garden will travel from classroom to classroom incorporating hands on learning both about science and about healthy foods.  Peter Michaelson the school principal added “as a community partner with Fit Together 5210, this project will help us support healthy eating choices for our student and families as well as our staff.” Torrington Middle School Community Fitness…

Fit Together in Action July News Fit Together’s Rock the Greenway Event Thanks to all who attended our first Fit Together event of 2021! Our “Rock The Sue Grossman Greenway Family Fitness Scavenger Hunt” brought together over 50 people (and a few furry friends) who came to search for hidden rocks while experiencing the great opportunities for fitness on the Greenway. Families who completed the full course walked over 4 miles and found 9 different clues! Fit Together in Action June News FREE EVENT- Rock the Greenway We are happy to announce our first in-person Fit Together fitness event of 2021. “Rock the Sue Grossman Greenway! A Family Fitness Scavenger Hunt” will have participants searching for special painted rocks hidden along the Sue Grossman Greenway and earning chances at raffle prizes for each of the rocks found and marked on a game card. Fit Together in Action February News Fit Together 5210 School Highlights: Southwest Celebrates Valentine’s Day Southwest School sent a friendly reminder to the kids and their families about the school’s healthy celebration wellness policy. Instead of celebrating Valentine’s Day with candy and treats they have suggested fun holiday pencils, stickers and homemade cards.
