Fit Together in Action December News DO GOOD. FEEL GOOD.    Batcheller Elementary School in Winsted recently completed an amazing project. They teamed up with Can’d Aid an organization focused on “Do Gooders.”  As part of their Treads and Trail program, bikes and helmets were donated to sixty first graders.  Can’d Aid believes in helping and supporting towns to make good things happen. It was a true community event, a local Can’d Aid team member made the connection with the school and the folks at Little Red barn helped build the bikes. These kids now have a better chance to…

Fit Together in Action November News Winsted Area Child Care Center- supporting families with nutritious food This month we are highlighting one of our GOLD partners; Winsted Area Child Care for their work fighting food insecurity during this pandemic. This past spring the center provided whole fruits, vegetables, breakfast items and snack items to their families.  For ten weeks, parents could sign up for weekly boxes filled with healthy nutritious items. Fit Together in Action October News EdAdvance gets kids moving with CATCH   CATCH (coordinated approach to child health) is a platform that launches kids and communities toward healthier futures.   Erica Gammon, the Early Childhood program director at Ed Advance and a Fit Together Gold Partner has incorporated CATCH movement activities into their classrooms.  At a recent staff meeting, Erica asked her classroom teachers to share their favorite CATCH physical activity with the group.
